About the Norse ravens
In Norse mythology the raven holds a special place.  The god Odin has two ravens, Huginn and Muninn.  These two birds fly around the world gathering information and bring it back to Odin.  Good and reliable information is important for Odin, so he can make wise decisions and judge justly.
Furthermore, the raven symbolizes the bridge between us and our ancestors that have gone before us, and a reminder that we come from a thousand of their loves.
The raven has become a symbol of good judgment and wise decision making and brings good omen.

About the Norse Shieldmaidens
Shieldmaidens are female Viking warriors. They are often mentioned in Nordic sagas (history).  In old Norse they are called skjoldmøer.  Men and women were equal in the Viking culture.  Women could own land and were often captains in battle.  Shieldmaidens with battle weapons have been found in graves alongside male Viking warriors.  In one grave (Birka, Sweden) a shieldmaiden was found, and based on her weapons and other artifacts, she was a high-ranking Viking warrior.

Today, the Viking culture of exploration, innovation and heritage still influences our modern-day life. Thursday, for example, means Thor’s Day, and many Christmas traditions are rooted in Viking culture.
