Freyja, Genuine Amber and Vikings

Freyja is a beloved Norse goddess associated with love, beauty, fertility, and magic. She’s also strong and brave, with ties to war and those who die in battle.

According to legend, Freyja's husband Odr often travels far from home, and when he’s gone, Freyja weeps tears of gold that fall to the earth becoming amber, turning it into a symbol of love and longing.

Vikings valued amber highly: they wore it as beads and pendants, traded it across long-distance routes, and sometimes used it as a protective charm- something beautiful, rare, and believed to carry warmth, luck, and life-giving power.
